Common AssetCentre Issues
FactoryTalk AssetCentre is Rockwell's version control product for PLC and HMI code. This runs on a VM architecture consisting of multiple servers with different functions. Common issues amongst each are noted below
AssetCentre Server
- AssetCentre Client not opening often relates to services getting "stuck". Check the Windows Services to see if the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Service is started.
- If not running and if possible, reboot the machine and wait 1-2 hours. Check the services to see if the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Service has started.
AssetCentre Agent Server
- AssetCentre Agent not running often relates to services getting "stuck". Check the Windows Services to see if the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Agent Service is started.
- If not running and if possible, reboot the machine and wait 1-2 hours. Check the services to see if the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Agent Service has started.
FactoryTalk Directory Server
- FactoryTalk Directory issues often relate to the software licensing. Open the FactoryTalk Activation Console to see if the licenses are assigned correctly.
- If not assigned, refresh the licenses and wait 1-2 hours. Check the FactoryTalk Activation Console to see if the licenses are assigned correctly.
Rockwell Engineering Workstation
- AssetCentre Client not opening often relates to services getting "stuck" on the AssetCentre Server. Login to the AssetCentre Server and check the Windows Services to see if the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Service is started.
- If not running and if possible, reboot the AssetCentre Server machine and wait 1-2 hours. Check the services to see if the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Service has started.
